a debt of gratitude
All this time I have forgotten to acknowledge that we were told that Mikaela was in Foster care the entire time before us... the is no question that played a tremendous role in her resilency and ability to attach... we are very grateful to the wonderful people who cared for her for her 1st year of life.

Sandra, wow, I am glad to hear that MiKaela was in foster care and not in an orphanage. I think she had a much better experience there.
I have heard of many cases where kids who have been in orphanages are not able to bond with people who adopt them. So I believe that Mikaela will be able to bond with both of you a lot easier then if she had been in an orphanage and that is really great news.
